Farmers that we trust to bring you the most tender, succulent, clean cuts of meat that will deliver big on flavour, texture and nutritional content. You will taste the difference in Butchers Baron’s meats. We know the providence of all our breeds and we know the whole story from paddock to plate, so you can trust in us, to deliver you the very best.
Beef
Our beef primarily comes from a cattle breed called Poll Herefords. Poll Herefords are known to have excellent genetics and the meat is renowned for being very tender, juicy and high on flavour.
Our Herefords are 100% grass fed and live, free ranging, on the rich pasture of a beautiful 43 hectare biodiverse and sustainably managed farm. The cows natural diet is only ever supplemented with hay when needed and the cows are never given hormones or antibiotics.
Our beef is dry aged for 14 days which allows the flavour to concentrate and the meat tenderise, giving it a distinctive rich, delicious taste. Our cattle farm is fully accredited under the Livestock Production Assurance (LSA) program and registered as a Meet Standards Australia (MSA) producer.
Pork
Our heritage pork comes from pedigree Berkshire pigs. Berkshire pigs give superb, tender, juicy meat with good marbling to give sensational flavour, which is why it is the preferred breed used in many top restaurants worldwide.
Sourced in South Australia our pork is raised on farms with the highest welfare standards. The pigs never have their tail docked or teeth clipped and spend most of the day out foraging and playing in the paddocks, which have drinkers, shelters and plenty of wallows (mud) for the pigs to play in.
The farmers are absolutely committed to producing happy, healthy animals and are passionate about spending time with the animals. They never use hormones, antibiotics or growth promoting drugs and use sustainable farming methods.
Poultry
Our poultry comes from a multi award winning sustainable farm on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The chickens are organically raised (although not certified) and 100% free ranging, being pastured in open pens. They are free to scratch, peck and forage on fresh pasture whilst enjoying the sunshine. The chickens are never given antibiotics, hormones, chlorine or coccidiostats, they are truly free range and chemical free, just as nature intended.
All of the chickens on this farm have lived well and that is evident in the outstanding quality of the end product which is acclaimed for being plump, delicious and nutritionally dense.
Our Meat is exceptional
The fantastic flavours and superb quality of our meats are testimony to the passion and dedication of our awesome farmers. We know that you will taste our difference and you can trust us to deliver you fresh, high quality meats, born and bred just as nature intended – pastured, 100% grass fed and free ranging. Quite simply put, nurtured animals to nurture you and your family.
100% Grass-Fed Beef Vs. Grain-Fed Beef:
100% grass fed beef is far superior to a grain fed beef, offering a more natural and nutritionally dense high quality end product.

Natural Diet
Grass fed cows are fed 100% as nature intended, feeding on omega 3 rich grasses with diet only being supplemented with dried grass (hay) when needed.
Wellbeing
Cows are free to happily roam on open pastures and live as close to how they would if they were wild.
Nutrition
Grass fed beef is a nutritionally dense offering 3-5 times more immune boosting CLAs, 2-6 times more natural anti-inflammatory and brain boosting omega 3s and omega 6’s and contains higher levels of vitamins B, E, Iron and Zinc.
Drugs
Never given growth promoting hormones, antibiotics or drenched in chemicals.

Natural Diet
Whilst many grains fed cows may start off in the pasture with a natural diet, they are then moved to more intensive feeding area, being fed an unnatural diet of grains to artificially fatten them up.
Wellbeing
Cows once moved into more intensive feeding areas, often have restricted access to the outside and live in close confines.
Nutrition
Due to the unnatural diet, grain fed beef is a much fattier meat with a lower nutritional profile.
Drugs
Regularly given growth promoting hormones to speed up production along with regular antibiotics to help prevent the spread of diseases when cows are living in close confines.
